Protect marriage and our children and vote YES on Prop 8! If you research what has happened in Massachusetts, Texas and Connecticut you will be shocked at what could happen in California if Prop 8 doesn't pass. Please vote YES on Prop 8. The joys of motherhood...

I know that we all have those days where we think we are going to go insane!! Yesterday was mine, but I found solice in Pumpkin Apple Muffins! :) Every year we go to Bishop's Pumpkin Patch several times during the fall season. (So far we have been twice this year). I love love their Pumpkin Apple Muffins, but for 89 cents a piece, I thought I could make my own. So I searched the web and found an AWESOME recipe. I made some for Matt to take to work and some for us and they were gone that day. So last night I made another batch (in my Demarle mini muffin tray, which was amazing a total lifesaver). Nothing better than waking up to homemade goodies. My kids love them too. I will post the link so you can get the recipe yourself. http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Pumpkin-Apple-Muffins-with-Streusel-Topping/Detail.aspx So last week I was just called to be the Relief Society President in our Deaf Branch here in Sacramento! I'm excited and trying not to feel overwhelmed. Whew! I also just became an Independent Rep. for Demarle at Home. For any of you who are looking to make some extra money and have a blast doing it...this is the company! The products are AMAZING and pretty much sell themselves. This has been a true blessing to our family and I've only been doing it for a couple of months. You can email me at demarlerosy@yahoo.com or check it out at www.demarleathome.com if you are interested. Paige is as funny as ever. She started watching this t.v. show called Bindi the Jungle Girl (it is the crocodile hunter's daughter's show). Paige is addicted to it and now insists that she is Paige the Jungle Girl. I caught her yesterday petting the tv because they were showing a koala bear and wanted to pet it too. :) She threw a huge fit yesterday because I wouldn't let her build a treehouse on our patio and let her have monkeys. She finally conceded and said that she wouldn't have jungle animals if only she could have a frog or a lizard! She cracks me up. I can't wait until she is a teenager!! Hunter is talking like crazy. He pretty much says anything that we say. The other day he said, "I don't know," (sounds like "I don know"). When we say, "Who wants to go to bed!" He'll respond, "Meeeee! I don't!" On Sunday he say a picture of Jesus and pointed to it so I showed him the sign for Jesus and then he copied the sign and said, "Jesus! Jesus!" He says "AMEN!" after every prayer and fold his arms when we say it is prayer time. He's so cute and is quite the character. He definitely has a strong personality (just like his father..haha). Even though we all have "one of those days" I wouldn't give up my special job as a mother for anything. I feel blessed to be able to be my kids' mom.

Funny quotes

Everyone keeps telling me that I need to write down the funny things that Paige says, so here it goes.... Paige: "Mom, what do you want to be when you grow-up." Me: "Well, I'm already all grown-up. I am a mom and an ASL interpreter." Paige: "No, I mean you get more grown-up. Like, do you want to be a mail man or a garbage truck driver? Those would be good jobs to have." Me: "No, I don't think I want to be any of those things. I think I will be a mom instead. What do you want to be when you grow-up?" Paige: "I want to be a mommy and have 7 kids." Me: "Ahhh. That is so sweet. Why do you want to be a mommy?" (Now I'm thinking of all the sweet responses she will have). Paige: "Well, I want to be a cowgirl and a mommy. So, I need to have a lot of kids so they can help me on my farm!" Me: (Smiling and trying not to laugh) "Oh. Is that why mommy's have kids, to help them do chores?" Paige: "Yep." Me: "No, mommy's have kids because they love them and want to raise them up to be good people and have a family together forever." Paige: "Oh, and that too!"

Day in the life...

My kids crack me up sometimes! Hunter is obsessed with hats, daddy's camo hats in particular. Every morning he goes to Matt's closet and points up and says, "hat! hat!" I handed him one of Matt's Kings hats and he said, "No!! Ish, Ish!" He says "ish" for fish and I then realized he associated Matt's camo hats with fish and wanted his hat. Matt just went and bought Hunter his own camo hat and he wears all the time carrying his little fishing pole. Looks like he is going to be following in his daddy's footsteps. Paige says the funniest things. She is always telling me that she doesn't want to be in preschool any more, but wants to be in High School (thanks to High School Musical). I found a preschool that is actually on the campus of a High School and taught by students in the child development class there. When I told Paige about her new preschool she was thrilled and asked, "Do they sing too?" I told her that it wasn't like the teenagers in High School Musical and she was a bit disappointed. She is 4 going on 14!

YEAH!!!

This may sound pathetic, but oh well. Last night Hunter slept through the night for the 1st time in his life!! :) He takes 2 really long naps during the day and then slept through the night. I'm not sure what to do with all this time...oh wait, I think I'll sleep! I have about 2 years worth of sleep to catch up on. :)

Tips from the economically savvy!!

So Matt calls me cheap, but I prefer the term "economically savvy." One of my favorite hobbies is to hunt down deals. If you are interested in the same I have some cool tips for you. My favorite deal website is: www.afullcup.com and has a variety of ideas, coupons and helps. I thought I was frugal, but after going to that website I am nothing compared to some of those women! WOW!! Going out on a date with my husband seems to get so expensive by the time you pay the babysitter. So I like to buy gift certificates to restaurants at www.restaurant.com . There you can buy a $25 gift certificate for only $10 if you have an online coupon code (which I always have) you can purchase them for 40-60% off ($4-5). To get the coupon code you just do a search for online coupon codes and then type in restaurant.com. We just went to a nice steak house, on a date, and our bill would have been almost $60 and we paid $35. Just check it out for yourself. We can normally go to a nice restaurant and get $35 worth of food for about $14-15. I'm always up for a good deal, so if you ever see any send them my way. Oh, 2 more I just thought of. For children's clothing the absolute best place to go (cheaper than a thrift store) is the Children's Place in the Folsom outlets. Everytime I go they have at least 5-10 racks of 99 cent items. I just bought super cute sweaters for Paige for only 99 cents!! Very comfy pj's for 99 cents and some for $1.99!! If you are looking to make some extra money you can join me and sell your unwanted used toys, furniture and kids, teens and maternity clothing at the Just Between Friends sale (www.jbfsale.com). There's a sale coming up in August that I'm going to consign in for the first time. I decided to summer clean and went through all of our kids and baby clothing and just slimmed down the boxes a bit with the clothing items I wasn't too crazy about and I already have lots to sell. That's all for now!

Where has the time gone?!

So I know it has been a long time since I have posted on here, so tonight I thought I would give a little update. After typing a long post (twice) and having my computer crash, I'm about ready to give-up!!! :) I'm going to give it one last try. Paige is seriously the smartest little girl I know (I know that I am a bit bias, but I think it is true). She can hear something once and then commits it to her memory. Her new thing is to use "big" words and ask what they mean. The other day she told me that, "the word Honda means family." I asked where she heard that from and she said from a commercial. The commercial said, "Honda. Honda means family!" She says that , "Honda is the spanish word for family." She just cracks me up! :) Now for Hunter he is quite the dancer. He loves watching So you think you can dance with me. He loves to dance by spinning and then his pelvic thrust. It is quite a hilarious sight. He is still our little man and cute as ever. He is only in the 2% for weight so we are trying to beef him up. At his 1 year check-up he only weighed 18 lbs. 10 oz. He's so adorable and a smart kid too. He is only 13 months old and can now say, "meow, Nana and Papa." He may be small, but he definetely doesn't let anyone pushing him around. He's generally the agressor in most situations. I will post pics soon.

Hunter is 1!!!!

I can't believe it!!! Hunter is already 1 year old. This past year has gone by way too fast. Hunter says a few words already. He can say, "Mama, Dada, uh-oh, WOW, Up, Paige" and shakes his head profusely "no" for pretty much everything. He had a great birthday party and was such a trooper even though he fell down a few times and got some good bumps and bruises and also had an ear infection. I forgot how exhausting it is having a toddler running around. Whew!! I just got Hunter's pics done and even though I was sweating when the pics were done they came out pretty darn cute!

Vegas Baby!

We just got back from my brother, Rod's, wedding in Las Vegas. He married Liah in the Las Vegas Temple and it was so beautiful and we are so happy for them. The trip was quite an eventful one. Matt has never been to Vegas so it was fun going and seeing all the sights with the kids. It was surprisingly family friendly. The only problem was that everyone, except for me were really sick. Matt and Paige were the sickest. Paige didn't really eat much for 2 days and then finally ate when we went to a buffet. Her first real meal in 2 days was a 1/2 dozen crab legs! :) She takes after her daddy for sure. While in Vegas I broke my foot at our friends' house. I waited a week and a half before going to the doctor, because I'm so cheap I didn't want to pay the $15 copay. I finally broke down and went and sure enough I broke the little bone in the side of my right foot. So now I get to wear an attractive blue boot. Yeah for me! Life seems to be pretty busy right now, and I'm not sure what I'm so busy doing! I guess it is just the daily life of having young kids. We went to the Jelly Belly Factory for the first time last week and it was so much fun! Hunter is now walking on his own!! He started walking with his little walker at 8 1/2 months old and by 9 1/2 months he would take steps walking to me, etc. When he turned 10 months old he just took off. It is so strange to see this little tiny baby walking all around the house and outside. He is such a smart little boy. We lucked out with two smarties. Hunter can say a few words now. He says, "Uh-oh, Dada, Mom, Paige (sound like Pa-j)." Paige insists that he can say "Thank you Paigee" but we haven't heard that one yet. Life is great. I'm going to the National Scrapbook day on Saturday and get to scrapbook all day without any kids. I'm sooo excited!

Check out my Slide Show!

EASTER!!!

This was Hunter's 1st Easter and although he looked so dashing, he didn't get what all the hype was about. At least I have pics to scrapbook, and that's all that matters. :) Paige had fun going on the largest easter egg hunt 1 kid could have. She is definitely as pro when it comes to finding easter eggs. Easter was a pretty full day considering, Matt and I were both supposed to speak in Sacrament meeting, it was our 6 year anniversary, and Easter. Matt wanted me to take up the whole time with my talk and since I was left 20 minutes to speak I took up the whole time so he was so relieved he got off the hook. I guess that was my anniversary gift to him. haha.
After our ward we went to my mom's ward because she was teaching primary sharing time on Easter and we were killing time before dinner. Paige joined the senior primary kids and fit right in. She was not shy at all and knew all the answers. She is a pretty smart kid. Hunter is still working on the walking. He took about 2 steps on his own today so it won't be long until he is up and running!

I'm going to commit...I think

I'm really trying to get this whole blog thing down. I keep trying to update and make my blog cute, but after several unsuccessful attempts I gave up. I decided to try it again and I think I was much more successful this time around. YEAH!! Paige just turned 4 going on 17! She keeps complaining about having to go to pre-school because she would rather go to High School (thanks to that darn High School Musical 2 movie)! She thinks it is so cool to be 17, drive, be in High School and wear "stylish" clothes. Oh boy are we going to have our hands full! :) She is still the smartest little girl I've ever met. She is learning how to read and already knows how to sound words out. She comes up with the funniest things, some of which shock us. Just this past weekend she was telling her older cousin (who happens to be 17) that she loves Disneyland, except for the Snow White ride because that "freakin' scared me!" WHAT is that all about. We had a little talk about saying "freakin" and I am going to have to add that to the list of words not to say anymore, along with stupid. I'm still working on eliminating "crap" but that is going to be a hard one to break. Paige was also telling her cousin about Little Einsteins (one of her favorite shows). I thought that it was an educational show that would make her a little more cultured. Well, when she was aksed who her favorite characters on the show were she listed off some of their names and then said, "I don't like Quincy though." I asked her why that was and she replied, "Because Quincy doesn't have good-looking hair and he is the fat one!" Oh my! So I told her that even though people may not look pretty they can still be our friends and be good people and she said, "I know. He's just not my favorite, that's all." The things she comes up with just make me laugh. Hunter is also a smart little cookie. At 8 months old he weighs 17 lbs. 11oz. He seems so small still. He is standing himself up on everything and can now stand alone. He also walks all over the house with his little walker. Within 24 hours he had started walking with his walker, said his 1st word "Uh-oh" when he bumps into things with the walker, and signed his 1st word "more." He just started saying mama and shaking his head "no." Paige and Hunter are such joys to our lives and continue to bless our home. Ugh, this time change thing is going to kill me! I better get to bed. I can totally see how blogging can become addictive once you get the hang of it!

Who actually reads these blogs anyways?!

So I am obviously not good with this whole blogging thing. Not much going on in our lives besides the every day craziness. Paige is still one of the smartest 3 year olds (although she insists that she is 4 already). She'll be 4 next month and going on 40! She cracks us up constantly with her quick wit and humor. Hunter is such a good baby. He seems to be getting so big to us, but when we compare him to other babies his age he is so much smaller. So at 7 months old he weighs in at 16 lbs. 13 oz. Today he just started to REALLY crawl. For the past month or so he has been on his hands and knees and scooting along like a worm, but tonight he finally got his arms and legs working together. I'm not too thrilled with this new phase of mobility! :) He is constantly bumping his head on the floor and eating any and everything he can get his hands on (he prefers to chew on plastic and paper). So between the 2 kids I am on my toes. My new obsession is coupon clipping and deal shopping. WOW, have my eyes been opened! There are some insane discount shoppers out there. My newest favorite website is http://www.afullcup.com/ It is amazing! I have already saved so much money from using their tips and coupons. I'm really trying to update this blog, but I can't seem to figure out how to set-up the slideshow. Although I have been able to finally post pics. Maybe one of these days I will get good at this whole techno world!
